Process Steps Settings Overview

Step settings and properties are available on Process Builder. To see them click on step shape (1) - sidebar (2) will appear.

Sidebar contains several sections. Click on their headers to expand/collapse them. For quick navigation use the dropdown menu (3):

Step Settings Sections:

  • Properties - edit basic step properties.
  • Time - manage step duration.
  • User Interface - configure step layout, details tabs, Kanban (Task Manager) card settings, etc.
  • Notifications/Progress Component Settings - configure and manage notifications, system and custom buttons and set additional access.
  • Rules - configure rules that step should match to be proceeded.
  • Checklist Items/SOPs - configure step checklist.
  • Actions - manage step actions.
  • Connectors - manage connections between steps.
  • Responsibility Override - configure assignee for current step (this will override Responsibility settings).
  • Custom Data Fields - configure custom data fields and connection points.
  • Connection Points - configure connections that allow user to link different processes (not sub-processes).Section is available from version 6.0 .
  • Reminders - configure notifications that will remind user(s) about something based on event of reaching of some date & time.
  • Escalations - configure escalations that will re-assign step to other assignee(s) on event of reaching of some date & time.
  • Reference Material - attach additional files to step.
  • Managers - specifies instance managers (actual for Start steps only).
  • Variables - specifies variables to be initialized when process instance is started (actual for Start steps only).
