Introduction to Tasks and Issues

Tasks and Issues represent some one-time task to be developed, problem to be solved or defect to be fixed. The difference between these entities are just in value of a "Type" field.

Tasks/Issues can be:

  • specific for particular Process Instance and related to some specific step or not
  • related to particular Object Record, not depending on Process ("Float" task/issue)

Tasks and Issues are displayed for users in these places:

Tasks and Issues can be:

  • Created (will get "To Do" status by default)
  • Accepted (will get "In Progress" status)
  • Restarted (will be reverted to "To Do" status)
  • Put on hold (will get "On Hold" status)
  • Completed (will get "Complete" status)
  • Commented (have posts in proper feed)
  • Edited
  • Deleted
  • Assigned (will have assignee changed)

Also Tasks and Issues can have contents attached (like on process steps) and related tasks/issues added.

Completed Tasks and Issues are not shown in Task Manager.

Not all users are able to do all actions with Tasks and Issues. The list of permissions contains more information about this.
