Process Step Settings: Time

Steps have these Time settings:

  • Duration - used to set how much time task will take. This will allow to plan terms and dates, see visual information on the Gantt chart, trigger some actions based on step planing data, etc. See Setting Durations for Planned Records article.

Duration can be set in step properties (1). It can be specified as a number of days, hours, minutes or as a formula (that should return time interval):

Other way to set step duration is to click on the canvas to open Steps Tree (2):

Click on "f(x)" link (3) to show a Formula Picker popup (4). After applying the formula step duration will be shown as formula code either at steps tree and at step "Duration" field (5):

  • Effort (6) - some amount of time (in hours) that user can add to a process step for own effort count purposes:
  • Start Date Config (7) - used to calculate planned start date of the step. This will take influence on the process Planning phase (at the Gantt chart):

Click on  input field to call a proper popup (8) with formula builder:

See an example: how to configure start date to delay step execution.

  • Due Date Expiration Handler (9) - available from version 5.0 - allows to specify what to do when automatic or pending step reaches deadline.
